Education, Training & Employment (ETE)

Support with education, training and employment is an integral part of the treatment offer at the Bridges. This includes; regular workshops on a range of topics, such as creating CV’s, applying for jobs and interviews skills, disclosure of criminal records and IT skills. Individual sessions with our ETE workers are also offered to all clients in treatment and this support can continue after clients have graduated and left the service.

The Bridges is constantly developing partnerships with local employers, volunteering agencies and education providers in order to help equip clients with a range of options to support them with these aspects of their ongoing recovery. As part of the ETE programme, there are regular visits to the service by external providers, as well as visits to local agencies and colleges.

The Bridges also has a fully equipped IT suite for use by clients. This can be used to access online training and education resources, as well as providing an opportunity for clients to improve their IT skills. The IT suite also enables the use of Skype, for clients wishing to maintain regular contact with families and significant others whilst in treatment.
